Virtual Day in the Life

Hey!  Hey!

Just last week I shared my Tuesday over on Insta-Stories.  I posted every hour-ish, got lots of questions {that I'm answering in this post}, and decided I'd share here as well in case you missed it.

5:20 a.m.
Twice a week I do a workout class at my gym in the wee hours of the morning.  This class is kind of an at-your-own-pace type class with an emphasis on heavy lifting.  I'm getting there.  :)

6:15 a.m.
I'm looking ROUGH after that 45 minute workout!  Shay and I meet at the gym twice and week to get our workout on.

7:30 a.m.
I showered, got myself dressed, woke up the crazies, and got them breakfast.  I am so much more productive if I get myself together in the morning.  It doesn't always happen, but I'm always so glad on days that it does!

8:07 a.m.
I went upstairs to check on the boys' classes.  This kid was already tardy because he kept saying his computer wasn't turning on.  Insert my side here right now...he just wasn't holding the POWER button down long enough.  Bowen's signs are from Pottery Barn Teen.

8:20 a.m.
I did a quick sweep through the house...picking up, lighting a candle, etc.  Moms, do you do these sweeps throughout your day too?

8:30 a.m.
I sit down with a cup of coffee, my bible, and this prayer journal for some quiet time.  I'm not typically good at journaling but I love that this book has a space for weekly highlights, what's on your heart, prayers {as well as when they've been answered}.  It's just what I need in 2020!

8:45 a.m.
Loved this reminder!

8:45 a.m.
Ebby Lee missed the weather forecast with highs of 97, but she looked awfully cute!  Her wide leg jeans are this pair and this is her top.

9:00 am.

9:30 a.m.
Heavy laundry day because I slacked over the weekend.

10:00 a.m.
For the most part, I'm letting Bowen be responsible for virtual learning.  I peek in on him from time to time but I'm not sitting beside him all day.  However, I do listen to him read so everyday we get cozy and read for 20-30 minutes.  We just started Captain Underpants and he's loving it!

I think I messed my times up a little but a few pictures I took directly in Insta Stories so they're MIA!  I went to a local boutique to grab a birthday gift and then we had Trader Joe's Mini Beef Tacos for lunch.  My kids all like those and we paired them with fruit and yogurt.  They're basically a little beef and cheese in the middle of a tortilla chip.  Who wouldn't like that?

12:00 p.m.
Bowen and I throw the baseball everyday before or after lunch for 20-30 minutes.  Britt always comes out to play too!

1:00 p.m.
I got in some computer work!

2:00 p.m.
Britty and I sit down to work on the letter, "A".  Yes, we did that in tap shoes because all good work happens in tap shoes.

2:30 p.m.
Coffee cup #3 was a necessity!

4:00 p.m.
Ebby Lee and I drove by to drop off a birthday gift for her friend.

We had these meatballs for dinner with sweet potato fries, broccoli, and corn for dinner around 5:15 p.m.

7:30 p.m.
I grabbed this cutie from volleyball practice and we drove over to Bowen's 7:30 baseball game.

8:30 p.m.
Can you spot that cute third baseman?

9:15 p.m.
The baseball game was TIED at 15-15 with two outs, Bowen singled and one of his crazy fast teammates made it all the way home from second to win!  Super fun way to end a busy day!  Girls made it home first and we all showered quickly.

I'd say my kids typically go to bed around 9:00 every night so this was a later night than normal, but just an hour doesn't seem to throw them off too much.  Britt took a nap the next day but everyone else was fine.

10:30 p.m.
By the time the boys got home, showered, and calmed down from that exciting game it was 10:30 p.m. before I made it to bed.

Hope you enjoyed a peek at our day!  Our days aren't always like this!  Don't worry...I have lazy days and busy days just like you!

Friday Favorites-8.28.20

Hey Everyone!

We MADE it to Friday!  WAHOO!

Just like every Friday, I've joined forces with my girl, Andrea, and am here to bring you some FRIDAY FAVORITES!

First up, Britt and I just wrapped up our two weeks of lessons on, "Apples", and we read these four books over and over and over again.  My FAVORITES in order for a reason...Ten Apples Up On Top, Apples, Apples Apples Apples, and How Do Apples Grow.  If you're working on apples in your home or classroom, I recommend these.  The only one she didn't love was, "How Do Apples Grow and it's only because it's more nonfiction.  I added these books to a basket under our coffee table and am gonna have one big kid each day read one to her.  We'll just keep adding new books to that basket so no one gets too tired of our selection.

Best Boss EVER had this candle delivered this week!  It smells DIVINE!!  Britt and I both agreed it is a FAVORITE!

This top reminded me of my Madewell top from last summer paired with these slip on sneakers.

Another view of an easy everyday FAVORITE and sneakers.

FAVORITE meme of the week!

New FAVORITE weeknight recipe!  Shay posted this yesterday and I already had the ingredients on hand so we switched up our dinner menu.  They are DELICIOUS!

Fall sports begin tomorrow for the Slaughter House!   And I think we're all excited about it!  Hope you've had a great week!  See you back here on Monday!

Mom Hack for YOU

I'm SUPER excited about my post today!  I love sharing my life, my family, and things I'm loving lately with you but I ESPECIALLY LOVE sharing things I've found to make my life easier...which in turn I know will make YOUR life easier!

I'm HERE for a Mom hack and I know you are too!

Have you heard of Wal-Mart's Express delivery?

It's a service located in select zip codes where items are guaranteed to be delivered in two hours or less.  If you're like me, there are lots of times I could use a quick delivery and Wal-Mart now delivers!  I tried this service out myself earlier this week and am SOLD!

Walmart Express delivery is subject to availability at select stores. Standard delivery fee and/or Express delivery fee may apply. Minimum order applies.

These items were all delivered right to my door step!  SUPER EASY!

This is a random assortment of items you could have delivered...household items, groceries, sunscreen, school supplies, medicine, and the list goes on and on!

Can you imagine all the times....
*You're completely out of laundry detergent?
*You have a sick kid and can't find any medicine?
*You realize you're short one item from the school supply list?
*You need something for kids to put in lunch boxes this week?
*You forgot to get a birthday present for a party later today?
*You remember you need ONE more ingredient for dinner tonight?
*You just noticed you're out of diapers!

This service is even offered on electronics so your laptop stops working?  You can be back up and working in two hours or less!

With the click of a button, Wal-Mart will have it at your doorstep in two hours or less!  Delivery comes from your local Wal-Mart store and the service is offered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  You still get those everyday low prices by paying the same price you'd pay if you were shopping in store.  There are no price mark ups per item.

I popped into the store last week and found this cute this cute flowy top and slip-on sneakers.  They're both perfect for the transitional weather we tend to get in the fall.

A close up look of the slip-on sneakers.

I also found a few more cute pieces while I was shopping.  You can see all my favorites here...

I'm telling you, friends!  This service will be such a lifesaver for us on busy days!  Thank you for stopping by!  And a huge thank you to Wal-Mart for sponsoring this post!

What's Up Wednesday-8.26.20

I'm linking up today with Sheaffer and Shay for What's Up Wednesday.

What We're Eating This Week...
Life might be all kinds of crazy right now, but I'm killing it in the dinner department.  My grocery/dinner game is strong.  #fornow

Monday-We had Angel Chicken with brown rice instead of pasta and it was delicious!  My SuperMom powers were in full force when I threw dinner in the slow cooker around noon and we had a yummy meal ready hours later.

Tuesday-Bowen requested meatballs....again, they're his favorite!  I decided to make Provolone Stuffed Meatballs this week and I ate mine with this spicy ketchup!

Wednesday-BBQ Apple Chicken Sandwiches are on the menu tonight and I'll serve those with sweet potato fries.

Thursday-Tomorrow we'll have Pizza Joe's and Tab and I will eat ours on these sweet potato slices.  Have you tried these?  I'll put them in the air fryer and they'll take fifteen-ish minutes.  The kids will have theirs on a burger bun.

Friday-Have been our grilling nights the last few weeks.  The tradition will continue and Tab will throw something on the grill while we hang in the backyard.

What I'm Reminiscing About...
One year ago today, I was at Walt Disney World with these three special ladies for an agent training.  We've been texting this week about what an amazing trip we had!  It's been fun to think back on that!

What I'm Loving...
I've been loving focusing on the positive like all the extra time with my people.  I was in virtual second grade quite a bit this past week.

And this girly looked so pretty all dressed up for church on Sunday.

What We've Been Up To...
These girls were the best dog-sitters this past weekend.  Our neighbors went out of town over night so Ebby Lee and Britt watched their dog on Saturday and Sunday.  I'm embarrassed to tell you how many walks these three went on in the span of 36 hours.  You'd be amazed!

What I'm Dreading...
I'm dreading the fall season without all the fun activities.

What I'm Working On...
Preschool...shapes, colors, numbers, ABC's.  If you're working on this at home too, you should check out this post.  LOTS of great ideas!!

What I'm Excited About...

Can I say that?  I'm already looking forward to the new year!

What I'm Watching/Reading...
I got distracted with Netflix and am still reading this book, The Girl With the Louding Voice.

On Netflix, I watched all three seasons of Selling Sunset.  It's Real Housewives meets House Hunters, in my opinion.

And I just finished watching Waco on Netflix!  This was SUCH a good one!

What I'm Listening To...
I'm listening to Bowen work on his social studies lesson which happens to be fill in the blanks to the Star Spangled Banner.  I wish I could have recorded this for you.  Bless his heart, his lyrics were way off.

What I'm Wearing...
I wore this dress to church the first week our family was back in the building!

I've been wearing this tank on repeat with shorts and leggings.

What I'm Doing This Weekend...
Nixon has his first 7-on-7 football game this weekend and it's the kickoff to fall sports in our family!  He's playing for the Fightin' Irish this fall so give us all the navy, green, and gold!

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month...
*My mom is coming to visit for a long weekend!  That's always fun!

*This kid will be back in action on the baseball field.

*And this kid has joined a new baseball team this season!  He's got lots of games next month!

Thanks for reading today!

Virtual Day in the Life

Hey Hey!

I have a feeling these days are ones that won't soon be forgotten but just in case I want to document a virtual school day.  I'm not even kidding when I say every day is different because that is absolutely the case.  Some days there's a Zoom outage, other days no one ever yells, "MMMMOOOOMMMM", and some days I rarely have time to sit down before the virtual school day is over.  You truly never know what you're gonna get.  And I'd love for you to join us today!

You can follow along over on Instagram and I'll be sharing a picture at least every hour on the hour.  I've gotten requests for more videos so I'll try to deliver those as well!

Hope you join us!

Oh Monday. Let's Do This.

Hey There, Friends!

It's Monday.  This is our last full-five day week of virtual learning left before our kids go back to school in person.

I think we can...

I think we can...

I think we can...
A little motivation for your day.  :)

We had a really great, chill weekend.  Friday night we grilled out and then spent the rest of the evening hanging with our neighbors while the kids played in the yards.  The weather was nice and it was such a fun way to spend our Friday night.  On Saturday, we ran some errands and had date night!  It was NICE to get out of the house!  Yesterday, I finally started watching Waco (WWHHOOOAAA!!!), which is why my blog post never got fully finished.

I'm talking to myself as well when I'm trying to inspire us with these Monday motivational quotes.

Let's do it, friends!

We got this!

Friday Favorites-8.21.20

Happy Friday, Friends!

Hope your week has been FANTASTIC!  Our weekend is pretty chill and no one is more excited about it than me!  We're grilling tonight and I hope I'll be in my pajamas before 9:00 p.m.!  The PERFECT Friday, if you ask me.  :)

Andrea and I have teamed up to share some FRIDAY FAVORITES for the week!

First up is my FAVORITE virtual teaching sidekick!  This girl is by my side 24/7 and sometimes we even have matching messy buns.

A sweet friend gifted me this prayer journal this week and I enjoyed it so much I already primed some to pass out to friends.  Pay it Forward-Prayer Journal Edition sounds like something 2020 would benefit from.  Right?

If you're looking for a new prayer journal, I love that this has highlights from the week and a complete section on, "Answered Prayers".

A FAVORITE time in each day!

This picture is kind of dark BUT can you read, Today's Reminder?  FAVORITE thoughts about this current season.  You got this, Moms!

A FAVORITE work spot has always been Britt's speech office lobby.  We go early mornings and are always the only ones in there, but since Covid I've had to stay outside in the car.  I typically go for a walk or a run, but one day this week the weather was nice and I found a shady spot to do my work.  Coffee was near {just not pictured} and it was a great little morning spent working.

Our church opened for in-person worship by reservation only this past Sunday and it felt SO GOOD to be back in the building.  A FAVORITE for sure!

I heard this quote this week and loved it.  Right now, I'm feeling this more than ever.
"We don't ever wanna love our opinion more than we love each other."-Jamie Golden

That's a look at my FAVORITES from this week!  Have a great one, friends!
