Our 4th

Our July 4th like everyone else's looked a little different this year.  We like to start our morning with the Independence Day parade in downtown McKinney, but this year the parade was a drive-by for guests.  We opted out and instead got everything ready for a backyard party at our house!  The Shull crew came over right after lunch and we swam, slid, and ate until it was time to go watch the fireworks.

The bounce house slide was on repeat for us all...even the adults.  :)

Late afternoon we made our way over to my neighbor's to paddle board and canoe in the lake.  I didn't even think to take my phone with me so no pictures of that, but according to my kids, we need to start doing that much more!   They loved it!

Lots of snacks, drinks, and 4th of July goodies...and the only picture I have of Bowen!  He was BUSY!

We grilled fajitas with all the toppings, enjoyed queso, corn dip, and salad all before our strawberry dessert created by Ebby Lee.

A great day with these two firecrackers.  :)

And the only picture I took of us.

Hope you and your family had a great 4th!
Happy, Happy Birthday, America!
XO

Looks like a fun Fourth! I know how much it must mean to Shay that you are thoughtful enough to make your meal gluten free and safe for their family. My family has food restrictions and those friends that go above and beyond to make it safe for us mean so much!

How are you all social distancing - do you take temps before visiting friends? Just curious as I see Texas is on the rise again in Covid #’s. We are in North Carolina and grateful to be on a lake!

You know it was a good day when you had so much fun you didn't have time to think about pictures. Love the idea of a bounce house slide. Wonder if we have those in El Paso??
