Moms at Christmastime

I posted this on Instagram yesterday and a lot of you were feeling me.  This is SO ME right now!

Tab has been out of town since Friday {with a quick day and night at home on Sunday} and before he got home late last night the kids locked my bedroom door with no key or way to get inside.

Let me set the stage...our elf, Sparky, brought the kids Diary of a Wimpy Kid 10-Second Challenge yesterday morning.  We'd decided to play it right after dinner and were having the best time!  Perfect game for ages 6-10 and my kids knew all the characters plus fun, silly challenges had us all laughing.  We'd gone into my bedroom because Bowen's challenge was to do a handstand on the wall and carpet seemed safer. We did this ALL THE TIME growing up, but either my kids are way different or I was strange.  Did you do this as a kid?  Not a single Slaughter kid could accomplish the task at hand and I wish I'd been recording because some of these attempts were ridiculous.  We were all laughing and as we walked out the door Britt closed it but it was in "lock" mode.  Womp, womp, womp!  Needless to say, my plans for finishing up my post turned into me googling, Youtubing, and attempting ways to break into my bedroom.  Finally, around 9:45 p.m. a stroke of luck occurred and I got in!

'Tis the Season, Friends!  I'll be back tomorrow for Friday Favorites!
XO

God bless Andrew Shull. He has kept that elf alive this year. I am ready for the Elf to find a new family. Bahahahaha!

That sounds like a fun game, the locked door not so much. Glad you figured out a way to get in! I was never able to do a handstand. I admire some 60+ year olds at my yoga class every time they do a handstand. So impressive!

I agree with Shay!...would it be terrible if our elf left a note stating too many elves were sick with the flu and he needed to report back to the North Pole early to help pull off Christmas?!!! 🤪
