Thoughts

First up...this meme just makes me laugh.

This week is SCHOOL WEEK around here!  My kids head back to school later this week and we're still having all the mixed emotions.

I've been reading up a storm all summer long and my summer book review is coming tomorrow!

***************

Tab's grandfather, Papa,  passed away last week and while we're super sad for us, we know he's in heaven fully healed.  His wife of many years had gone before him and to say he missed her dearly would be the biggest understatement.  He was ready to go home.  Tab has numerous stories he shares about Papa.  He was the kind of grandfather who made any visit and trip special.  With ten grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren those stories will live on.  What a legacy!

There was a part of the funeral when any grand child could get up and say something about Papa.  Great stories were shared...there was laughter and lots of tears.  But something Tab's cousin said really stood out to me.  She said that when she got married Papa told her to think of marriage as her husband loving her more than she loves him and she needs to spend the rest of her life trying to catch up.  {Which if you'd ever seen Papa with his bride that's exactly the way he treated her.} It just made me think...how different marriages might look if we all lived our lives trying to catch up.

Just a little nugget of knowledge from Papa I'd like to pass along to all of you.

I worked on my blog posts days in advance last week so I apologize for saying, "Follow along on Instagram", and then not posting a single thing.  Our week was adjusted and we ended the week with our last little fling before school starts {with the Shull crew}.  To be honest-posting on social media just seemed inappropriate.

This is the time of the year when I'm the most organized version of myself EVER.  My planner has never looked so good, my menu is set, and even our closets are organized.  Now we're READY!  For a new school year, new friends, new classes, new teachers and more!  I'll see you back here tomorrow, friends!

Thanks for reading.
