Friday Favorites {Whole Lotta Random Edition}

Hey Everyone!

Friday Favorites here...teaming up with Narci and Andrea, like every other week.  We love for bloggers to join us by grabbing our graphic, linking back to us, and then adding your blog to the link-up!

I have a random mix of faves for you today...
We celebrated one of our FAVORITES this week-Marla had a birthday!

Why, oh why does my fried rice not taste like Benihana's?

Britt loves being entertained while she eats.

And Nixon didn't mind it either.  :)  Where's my picture of the birthday girl?

 I delivered a meal to a sweet family this week and this is what I took...I made a big batch of chicken and kept half for us.  Then I grabbed two already made corn breads from Market Street, added a salad and fruit.  It was super easy!  And a HIT!   By the way, if you don't have the Simmers' cookbook, you need it.

Sometimes finding something you can make and easily transport that won't take all day to prepare can be hard, so I wanted to pass this on!

I'm talking Big Brother FINALE! {Because this show is a FAVORITE!}

I've gotta know what you thought?!

I LOVED the ending.  I was crying happy tears for both Tyler and Kaycee.

*I mean SHOCKER that Swaggy-C got down on one knee and proposed.  Oddly enough, it sounds like he's spent more time with Bayleigh's parents than with her.  Right?  I didn't see that coming!  Maybe they can get married in the backyard next summer right before a POV competition.  :)

*I LOVE that Hayleigh and Faysal are together/dating/whatever you want to call it.  I thought their relationship was really cute inside the house but they didn't lose sight of what they had gone there to do.  I thought it was sweet to see...and when Faysal said, "It's about time".  I laughed out loud.

*What about Tyler and Angela?  They both seem smitten with each other right now.

That last sentence sounded a little like the Big Brother announcer.  Didn't it?  #haha

*I also LOVE the way the show ended.  Kaycee played a GREAT game and deserved to win.  {Not that Tyler didn't.}  I think the vote could have gone either way and I'd have been happy.  But seeing Tyler tear up about getting America's Player made me so happy too.

Let me know YOUR THOUGHTS!

Sweet Girl-This is what happens when you want to be near mom, but you're two and you still need to nap.  We moved Nixon's nap mat into my office {because it was downstairs and I was too lazy to go up to grab hers} and she snuggled up and napped while I worked.  Win-win for us both.

Britty's dress is from Old Navy and you can't see them-but I paired it with kitty leggings from Old Navy.  Added a bow from One Stop Bow Shop and this girl was looking all kinds of fall ready.

If you missed my make-up post earlier this week, you should head over there to read it now!

And yesterday I shared all the shows you guys told me I should watch.  The list is HUGE!  If you're looking for a new show to watch this fall, head to that blog post to get some new ideas.

And a little housekeeping question....can you guys see my posts in a normal format?  For some reason, I got some e-mails/messages saying the post looked really weird on Wednesday.  Just want to check to make sure it's all good now.  I'm hoping that was a weird fluke!

That's all I have today, friends!

I'm off on a fun little {like day-trip-kind-of}adventure today.  Follow along on Instagram {slaughteren} to see where I'm headed!

Have a GREAT weekend!

This and That

Happy Thursday, Everyone!

I have a little bit of this and a little bit of that for you today.  :)

First up, is our football dinner we had earlier this week.  After learning about all the Game Time Goodies Wal-Mart has to offer, I ordered some fun festive touches to make our table special.

{Last year we did this on the opening night of baseball season, but someone got a hold of a "bad hot dog" and let's just say the night didn't end well.}

Who knew I'd be one-click away from football-party-throwing-ready thanks to Wal-Mart?

I shared the jerseys I bought my crew on earlier this month and wanted to share some of the other cute items they have to get you Game Day ready.

I grabbed this football garland, football table cloth {mine exact table cloth is sold out-if you're hosting a party with lots of tables, banquet, or something similar-I'd recommend this roll, plates, napkins, popcorn boxes, pinata, and toothpicks.  I set it up while my kiddos were upstairs playing on Sunday afternoon and they were so excited when they came downstairs.  #itsthelittlethings

I made a variety of Shay's Super Bowl Bites...sausage balls, chicken bites, queso and more.  Since Ebby Lee has braces and popcorn is a big NO, I filled the little boxes with tortilla chips for the queso.

See those "we're #1" hands?  They came in a pack of eight and after the kiddos ate they decorated them {with just markers} with their favorite teams' colors.  That'd make a great football party craft!

These goodies would be great for a football-themed birthday party, Game Day, or it was a fun way to spice up a regular dinner and everyone in my family loved it!

And remember if you're on the hunt for Game Day Gear, be sure to check out Wal-Mart.  They have a wide variety of items all at great prices!

You can shop it all right here...

Thanks to Wal-Mart for sponsoring a portion of this post.

I asked last week for recommendations for shows similar to some of my past faves...

Like all of these.  :)

You guys were so sweet to send me your suggestions and I've had several people ask if I'd post all the shows you guys recommended.  I'm a people pleaser, so I'm giving the people what they're asking for.  Ha!  Be prepared-this list is LONG!  But I hope everyone leaves today with a new show they'd like to watch.

I've watched these and just forgot to mention them...
Friday Night Lights
Tab and I watched this show while it was on so we had to wait {PATIENTLY} every week for a new episode.

The OC
Tab and I watched this the first year we were married and loved it!

I'm pretty sure I had a super similar poster hanging on my wall when I was younger.

I loved this version too.

Dawson's Creek
I watched Dawson's Creek when it was good!

This Is Us
I watched most of the first season, but I got behind and could not keep up.  And it left me so emotionally drained each week-I gave it up.  After your comments, maybe I need to retry this one?

Brothers and Sisters
I LOVED this show...super similar to Parenthood.

Schitt's Creek
My mom is reading this somewhere shaking her head.  I'm not sure I've seen all the seasons?  This one isn't appropriate with kiddos in the room.  Rated R for language!

Grey's Anatomy
I didn't finish this one, but watched it for YEARS.

Yes, yes, yes....watched this one.

I only watched one episode, but maybe I need to give this one another shot too?

The Good Wife
Tab and I watched a couple seasons live and then we probably missed the premiere and stopped.

This is a list of all the shows you recommended I haven't seen...{It's super long, but I thought the pictures helped!}
