Friday Favorites

Hi Everyone!

Happy Friday!  A huge THANK YOU to everyone who recommended some sort of special allergy treatment for me yesterday.  I've been taking Allegra (but not the "D"), Flonase, and Ibuprofen.  I did some adjusting today and am hopeful I'm feeling much better ASAP.  THANK YOU!

Narci, Andrea, and I are hosting Friday Favorites.  The link-up where we invite you to join us and share your favorite ANYTHING from the week.  :)

I have a random assortment of FAVORITES for you today.   Hope you enjoy!

First up, is a little segment I like to call, "Sideline Style".  This topic is very love it or hate it for my readers.  I apologize if this is not your favorite thing, but I got lots of people e-mailing and messaging me about this.  I thought if I put it in my Friday post it might not be as painful for those of you who are not fans.  I'm a people pleaser.  :)

Most of you know my husband, Tab, refs college football in the Big 12 conference, so in the past I've featured random colleges and highlighted some outfit choices you could wear to a game supporting your team.  All game day options if you are looking for something different than a big college t-shirt to wear.  Since our house hears mostly about the Big 12 because that's who Tab is working with every week I thought I'd do my best to stick to those schools first.  If I have plenty of time, then I'll highlight some others later.  Another problem I had in the past is finding one or two favorite organge options for certain schools and then later needing five orange outfits to cover all the orange schools.  Instead, I'll highlight a couple schools at a time.  I hope that all makes sense.  #itdoestome

Nordstrom reached out and asked me to feature a few things for fall and I knew immediately I could share some Game Day Gear with you from my favorite store.  I'm telling you they not only make ordering and returns crazy easy but gifting as well.  I'm the worst about sending things via the mail.  We have dear friends who just had a baby this week and thanks to Nordstrom they have a cute gift, wrapped and everything, arriving soon from the Slaughters.

I'm starting it off pretty close to home with the Baylor Bears.  These colors are near and dear to my heart.  They're my hometown school colors as and gold for the Zalma Bulldogs.

I ordered this sweater a while back.  The color/size were backordered and it just arrived.  It's a dark olive sweater with cute tie sleeves.  You can wear something under it or alone...either way you'll be BAYLOR ready in this top!  I paired it with my favorite jeans, tassel earrings,  and booties.  (Booties just got marked down 10% off.)

I've featured this top (super limited sizing) before but the second I saw it I knew I had to share for a BAYLOR game day option!

I'm making this one a bit easier on myself and featuring two schools with the same colors.  :)

No matter who you're cheering for...K-State or TCU, this outfit will have you looking so CUTE!

 For both Iowa State...

And the University of Oklahoma, I think you could make the next option work.

This top has a really cute tie in the back.  I was amazed at how comfy it was as well.  I love a comfy and cute top and this one totally fits the bill.  I paired it with these black jeans, earrings, and booties.  I must say this top is almost a little more "burgundy" than "cardinal" or "crimson" so if the color just doesn't seem right to you then I'd recommend this one...

This outfit would almost work for any school.  You could wear some earrings in your team's colors.  For both OU and Iowa State, I'd pair some cardinal or crimson earrings and you'd be set.  You could also switch out the black jeans for a red option and that'd be darling as well.  This top comes in other options as well.

Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this portion of Friday Favorites.

We celebrated one of our FAVORITES birthdays this week with dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.  Happy Birthday, M!

I'd LOVE your help on this one.  We love going to the Florida beaches but also like getting to vacation in other areas as well.  #somanyplacessolittletime  After lots of discussion, I think we're going to head back to the white sandy beaches this summer BUT typically we stay in the Destin/Sandestin area.  This year we'd like to give the 30A area a try.

For our beach trips, I usually find a rental on VRBO but I just thought I'd reach out and ask for any recommendations.  If your family has a favorite spot in the 30A area, please share the name!  It's so hard (since we've never been before) knowing exactly where we should stay.  We'd love something close to the beach with a pool or close to the pool as well.  Thank you in advance!

This one isn't a actually just makes me sad.  Oh, how I wish the new Fuller House was more family-friendly!  I've watched a few episodes and considering episode 4 of Season 3 is all about Ramona hiding a hickey from her mom, I don't think they made this season any more family-friendly than the others.  :(

One more question for you...I have a friend who LOVES documentaries.  She watches them all the time on Netflix and I'm always asking her for new recommendations.  Do you have a favorite documentary or two on Netflix we should check out?  If so, please share!

I think that's all the FAVORITES for today!  Thank you guys for stopping by!  XO

Photo Every Hour (Kind of)

First up, I wanted to announce the winner of the Falling for Fall Giveaway...

I must tell you guys.  I started this photo-by-the-hour post off strong and by the end of the day not so much.  This is my excuse...I've never really had any fall allergy issues.  Usually in the spring, I have a week of not feeling great but that's it.  I don't know what is happening, but I must be allergic to the air in Texas right now.  My eyes hurt, nose is running, I'm coughing...I'm a mess.  I'm taking medicine but I don't think it's doing a thing.

I'm not the only one suffering in my house.  We're all struggling just a bit.

This is a typical Tuesday around here.  I tried my best to capture one picture at the top of every hour...

My alarm went off and I got started on my Bible Study.  Right now, I'm going through the All in All devotional and the You Are Loved eight week study.

I then got some blog work done before it was time to wake the kiddos up.

Lunches are packed, backpacks are ready and waiting by the back door.

I don't know what happened when I backed out of the garage to take the kiddos to school-I somehow ran into this pot.  It's here everyday so I'm blaming it on the allergies.  The pot crumbled on this one side.  Too much of it was then hanging in the garage so the garage door wouldn't close.  A mess!

I got ready, picked up the little Shulls, and dropped Bowen, Ashby, and Madeley off at preschool.  Shay and I carpool to/from preschool.

Britt had therapy right after drop off.  Her therapist brought out this fall painting they did while she was working today.  And I got the news...she started crawling!  I really thought she'd be one of those kids that skipped crawling all together but for developmental purposes it's really important she learns.  So we've been working on it and she nailed it (kind of) during therapy.  They came out showing me her skills.

We had to run in the grocery store to grab a few things after therapy and this breakfast burrito was speaking to me.  SO good!

Britt and I had lunch and then we practiced her crawling skills a little bit more.  She's a fan of music on the I-Pad so I used that as the "bait" during our practice.

While Britt napped, I got a ton of travel work done (but I didn't take a picture of that because everything had names).

I picked up the kiddos from school and they got right to work on their homework.

This is where I stopped taking pictures...I had brisket in the slow cooker for dinner that I prepared just a bit around 5:00, Shay picked up Ebby Lee to take to dance, then I went to grab the girls after class, I cleaned up the kitchen, and we were off to baseball at 7:00.

The game started at 7:30 p.m. and was over around 8:45 p.m.

Someone needed their diaper changed.  :)  When you're the youngest of four, you get to stay up WAY TOO LATE on a school night when your older brother has baseball games.

When we got home, I bathed Britt, put her to bed, and let Tab get the older kiddos to bed.  I took the only allergy medicine we had in the house and was OUT!

If you see me around today, this is how it's going so far.  :)

Hope you have the best Thursday!  XO

What's Up Wednesday

I'm joining MelShay, and Sheaffer for their What's Up Wednesday link-up!

What we're eating this week:

Monday: We celebrated Marla's birthday at The Cheesecake Factory!  Mama had the night off.  :)

Tuesday:  We had Brisket Tacos with avocados, onions, and cheese.  YUM!

Wednesday:  We're having Angel Chicken tonight in between #allthepractices.

Thursday:  Pizza Joe's are on the menu and definitely a crowd pleaser in our house.

Friday:  We'll eat out!  #andkeepthekitchenclean

What I'm Reminiscing About:

Last year at Halloween we knew we were missing someone but we hadn't seen her sweet face just yet.  This year we can't wait to introduce Britt to trick-or-treating and all the fall fun.  Everyday my big kids change their mind on who or what they think Britt should be for Halloween.  If it was up to them, we'd buy her seven costumes and she'd wear a different one daily during Halloween week.  ;)  If you're looking for a little Halloween costume inspiration, be sure to check out Monday's post.

What I'm Loving:

I'm loving all our rodeo memories from a couple weekends ago.  Seriously had the best time!  Tab has an "off weekend" soon and I contemplated us going back to the rodeo-we had THAT much fun!

I'm loving this top and according to the e-mails I've guys are too!  Good news-it's being price matched now and is 30% off!

I'm loving our good news from the doctor and the fact that this girl can EAT again!  WAHOO! She's been doing great!  Eating anything and everything.  We switched over to sippy cups because after two weeks of no bottle why would we go back?  She doesn't seem to care one bit about the bottles being gone.  Thank goodness!

And I'm also loving enjoying my morning (and afternoon) cup of coffee from these pumpkin mugs.  #itmakesmefeelfestive

I'm loving that there's a new version of my LEOPARD BOOTIES out.  Two versions actually.  You can see them both here (and there's a taller option as well).  I'd say the pair I'm wearing above is like the middle pair in the link.  I wear my leopard booties so much.  Mine are looking WORN so I bought this pair for myself.  They fit very similar to my old pair but the leopard pattern is a bit smaller.  That's the main difference.

What We've Been Up To:

Tab has been having "Big Kid Football Weekends".  Each of the big kids have had a turn to go on a little road trip with Tab, spend the night, attend one of his football games, and get a bit spoiled being the "only" kid for the weekend.  This past weekend Bowen got to head to Stillwater for the OSU vs. TCU game.

Prior to his weekend away, Shay asked about Bowen going to the zoo with Tab and after much discussion we figured out that if you say, "You're going to the OSU/TCU game" three times fast it almost sounds like, "You're going to the ZOO".  Bowen had told Mrs. Shay he was going to the zoo on his football trip.  Luckily, we cleared it all up before they left town.  Not that football isn't fun, but when you're four-the zoo is WAY cool.

His exact words were, "Mom, it was AWESOME but SO hot!".  hahaha!  And I love that he has his suitcase out like all the guys.

What I'm Dreading:

Nothing at the moment, but that kind of makes me think I'm forgetting something??

What I'm Working On:

I'm SO happy to report the girls' room is finally finished!  We needed to add some last minute touches and while I was out of town Marla flew in and saved the day.  I'll be showing you the girls' room very soon.

What I'm Excited About:

A few girlfriends and I just checked out another resort in Mexico (Secrets Maroma Beach) and we had the VERY BEST TIME!   All us mamas took a break from bathing kids, homework, carpool, and cutting up food to enjoy a little relaxation.  It was exactly what my soul needed.  I'm excited about sending some new travel clients to this exact resort (we loved it) in the next month.  We've also been busy planning lots of spring break Disney World trips and cruises.  If you'd like help with your next vacation, please reach out to us at  We'd love to help your family with their next vacation!

What I'm watching/reading:

What did you guys think about the finale?

I was so happy for Josh but SHOCKED he won.  Anyone else?  I found myself feeling bad for Paul.  He definitely has mastered the art of the game of Big Brother but I think all the jury was a bit too bitter for the majority to give him their vote.

I'm currently reading...

I just couldn't get into Just Life.  I have such a hard time "quitting" a book but I was getting no where with this one.

What I'm Listening To:

All the country music...I've been in a country mood over here.  #still

What I'm Wearing:

The temperature isn't screaming FALL just yet where we live, but I did spot several tops I've featured before on the blog that are all on sale.  I wanted to share those with you.  This Free People sweater is on sale now.

This Free People sweater is being price matched now.

This stripe sweater (under the jacket and hard to see) is on sale as well.

And this ruffle sweatshirt is 50% off at the moment!

What I'm Doing This Weekend:

Our weekend is going to be full of watching this guy do his thing.  Nixon has THREE games this weekend.  Sidenote...isn't baby Nixon so stinkin' cute?

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month:

It hasn't really happened yet here in Texas so I'm going to look forward to it happening next month.  :)

What New Television Show are you Looking Forward to the Most?

This isn't happening in the fall, but I believe in January...Big Brother is having their first ever Celebrity addition.  I'm STOKED about watching it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  XO
