Our Thanksgiving Week-Part 1

Our Thanksgiving plans were a bit crazy.  Due to Tab's football games, we decided the kids and I would drive to Missouri on Friday.  Tab was going to fly in on Monday and then we'd all leave the following Friday.  It was a great plan until Ebby Lee had solo practice for the Christmas service on Sunday!  All that to say, she stayed back with Tab and Marla while the boys and I drove up on Friday afternoon.

This kid was loving all the WIDE OPEN SPACES!  Saturday we saw lots of family and friends.  My parents had a bonfire complete with hot dogs and smores.  The weather was perfect for a fire.

Sunday, we went to church and then did nothing.  #likeforreal

Monday we picked up Tab and Ebby Lee and drove to my grandparents' house.  They had a little birthday party for Bowen complete with balloons and cupcakes!

I think he enjoyed himself.  haha!  Don't you?

It was so sweet of them to go to all that trouble.

Tuesday night, Ebby Lee spent the night with Brynn (Brynn is my cousin's daughter).  They went to a SEMO basketball game and crafted the next morning.  She had so much fun!

While Ebby Lee was doing this, Nixon was...

Nixon had his own sleepover with Camden, my nephew.  We were laughing because I'm sure the boys were loud and crazy while the girls were reading and crafting.  My poor sister-in-law!

Ebby Lee loved having all the girl time!

We met up for the new Disney movie, Moana.  It was okay...definitely not as good as Trolls (in my opinion).

The movie theater was dark and I guess I wasn't really paying attention, but in Chick-fil-A I realized my cousin and I were dressed very similarly.  It was a yucky day and apparently stripes with a puffer (similar) was the mom outfit of the day.  :)

For dinner that night, we headed over to the Tarbuttons' house.  The food was delicious (SO GOOD), the house was darling and so cute for Christmas, and the entertainment was out of this world.  Those five pictured above are a trip!

*I've gotta stop right here or this post will be WAY TOO LONG!  Come back tomorrow for Part 2.  We played a super fun Christmas game.  Perfect for a fun game night!*

Happy Hump Day!  XO

Bowen is FOUR!

This past Sunday this cutie turned FOUR!  We began the morning in a rush by being at church at 7:30 a.m.  I made cinnamon rolls-his request and we were out the door!  M and G came to last church service and then we all left to eat lunch.

After lunch, he opened his presents from us.  He is by far my easiest kid to buy gifts for.  He likes everything!  We played and rested for a bit and then it was PARTY TIME!

Andrea made the cutest dinosaur invitations.

I decided to have the part at Play Street Museum.  If you're local, you should check it out!  It's a cute little play place that's open for free play during the week and birthday parties on the weekend.  My favorite part about it is the place is crazy clean!  The lady working was fabulous during the party and so helpful!  It was great.  Seriously, can't say enough nice things about Play Street.

A few months before Bowen's party, I heard about a local restaurant, Top Dog Tacos, that caters.  A FB friend had them cater a birthday party and they brought the cutest little hot dog cart.  I contacted them and was so glad I did.  They were also great to work with!  They brought a hot dog cart, all the toppings, drinks, and chips.  They made my job SO easy!

This kid was stoked about hanging with all his friends!

The week before Thanksgiving I ordered a few dinosaur decorations to help make it a little more festive.

The hot dog area...they even made a specialty dog for Bowen's big day (for the grown-ups).

 Ready to celebrate!

This girl had to be dragged out of this little ice cream shop!  She had a blast playing the entire time!

This is Gray, one of Bowen's preschool classmates. Bowen's a big fan.  Can you tell?  :)

Everyone was too busy playing to pause for a picture.

Libby was happy to be there. :)

We had cute little dinosaur masks on the table for everyone.

Do you recognize any of these dinosaurs?

He had his girl by his side.  :)

I cannot believe he's FOUR!

The best group picture.  #itried

Bowen had the VERY best day and party!  We partied hard!  Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes.  XOXO

Let's Talk-Christmas Traditions

Anyone else?

This made me LAUGH!

The Slaughters had the best week.  We stayed up WAY too late, got to spend some much needed time with family, and made some amazing memories.  But today, we're tired.  Anyone else?

Thanks to Andrea's text last night I didn't forget our Let's Talk link-up!  Wahoo!

Every month, Andrea and I chit-chat about a topic.  Today's topic is CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS!

On Christmas Eve, we always leave COOKIES AND MILK FOR SANTA.

We send and love to receive CHRISTMAS CARDS!

We look forward to attending SCHOOL PARTIES!  Last year, Bowen and Ashby got to party all year long together.

Every year my Missouri family gets together during our visit to play some fun REINDEER GAMES.  I shared some favorites we played last year.  You guys should check that post out for some great game ideas.

We love getting to watch Miss Ebby Lee dance in the CHRISTMAS RECITAL!

Our visit to see SANTA is always a must.

We always manage to sneak in some FUN WITH FRIENDS!

We always decorate a GINGERBREAD HOUSE!

We set the timer on my cell phone for this one.  ha!  We like to get dressed in our Christmas pajamas and drive around to look at CHRISTMAS LIGHTS.

Our ELF ON THE SHELF, Sparky, shows up every year.  Some of your elves are crazy...sorry to report that ours is pretty chill.

We do a CHRISTMAS DEVOTIONAL every year as a family.  (I'd love any suggestions if you have them.)  This is the devotional we're doing this year.

I'm looking forward to this holiday season.  I hope you are too.  XOXO

Friday Favorites

Happy Black Friday, Friends!

Some of you are braving the crowds, others are shopping online, and then there are a TON of us on the road driving back home after Thanksgiving.  I wish I was shopping with you....at home or in the store.  That sounds like way more fun.  Doesn't it?  Instead I'm on the road again...

I've gathered some FAVORITES to share with you and am joining my girls, Narci and Andrea.

Get ready, girls...

I found a couple of my favorites on BLACK FRIDAY SALE and wanted to share.

I shared this with you a couple months ago, but these jeans are on sale now!  They're my favorites!

This dress I wore in family pictures last year is on sale in five different colors.  I wear mine with booties and pair it with faux leather leggings for another look.

My over-the-knee boots are on sale for 25% off!

The kiddos and I are making our way back to Texas, so it's a little short and sweet today.  See you back here on Monday!  XOXO
