Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!  Yay for Halloween weekend!

Like every Friday, my girls, Andrea and Narci, and I are joining forces to bring you our favorites.  :)

Last Friday evening the Slaughters got boo'd.  This bucket was FULL of goodies.

This pack of teeth was by far our FAVORITE thing.  We laughed and laughed at each other.  Bowen tried.  His teeth were too big.  His mouth was too small.  He gagged and gagged.  ha!

Late Friday night, we had some friends arrive in town to spend the night.  Rebecca and I met at a bowl game when our husbands were officiating together.  They live just a couple hours away, so she brought her boys down for a little fun.  We got up on Saturday and headed to Legoland.  We were Legoland newbies and super pumped!  Right after this picture, Bowen walked right through the lake you see pictured behind them.

When you walk into the doors of Legoland, the first thing you come to is a fun ride!  I'm all about the rides.

The front of my Lego car looks nice and patrolled, doesn't it?  Bowen was ready!  hahaha!

And Nixon was too!  We were on the lookout for trolls who had taken the Lego princess.

We got to watch a 4-D movie complete with water and wind gusts....Bowen was NOT a fan of the water or the wind gusts.

He was a fan of the glasses though.

These two were just a couple months apart-both first graders and both lovers of Lego Land!  ha!

Ebby Lee was pumped about the princess area.  Unfortunately, it looked way cooler on the map.  :(  There was a small table to build something and this...

a karaoke area where Nixon had a blast!  He was jammin' to "Party in the U.S.A.".

This is Bowen's "my car isn't in last place" face.

And one last ride to end our experience at Lego Land....that's the mall you see through that big glass window.  It's still crazy to me that all that stuff was inside a mall.

I was his co-pilot on this ride.

Mini-land might have been my FAVORITE part.  How do they do that with Legos???

For sure the kid's FAVORITE....this little ninja training exhibit where they had to dodge the lasers!  If you're in the DFW area, you should definitely check it out!!

Ebby Lee went to a birthday party this weekend.  Birthday parties and painting are two of her FAVORITES!  She loved it!!

My FAVORITE star student of the week!  #hessotough

Baseball season is fun, but it's even more fun with some of my FAVORITES to share it with!  Love spending nights at the ballpark with these mamas!

One-on-one time with Nixon is always a FAVORITE.  We were both a bit scared of feeding the animals.  hahaha!

Pumpkin patch field trip 2015 is in the books!

Thanks for stopping by today!!  Hope you have the best weekend and Happy Halloween!!

Gilmore Girls: Part 1

**Spoiler Alert**
I'm sharing some Gilmore Girls' moments.  If you're in the middle of watching, I don't want to ruin it for you.

I'm PUMPED about today!!!  Just this weekend I finished binge watching Gilmore Girls.  And by binge watching, I mean watching any possible second I could to get closer to finishing that series!!!  I started back in the spring and have slowly been watching when I had time.  I thought the show totally picked up during Season 3...and once I hit Season 3...I was hooked!!  It was....

First things first...I LOVE Lauren Graham!  Like big puffy red heart love her.  I loved her in Parenthood and I loved her just as much in this series.

And Scott Patterson...oh my goodness!!

When I began working on this Gilmore Girls' post, I decided I had TOO many things to share, so this is just Part 1 of a small series.  Don't love for Stars Hollow runs deep.

My absolute very favorite two people on the show were Luke and Lorelai.  I thought it'd be only fair for me to start by sharing with them.

Some of my favorite Luke and Lorelai moments:

*The Dream*
As soon as I saw that rugged flannel wearing Luke, I was rooting for Luke and Lorelai.  I kept waiting and waiting and waiting for that to happen.  My heart about EXPLODED at the beginning of Season 3 when Lorelai has that DREAM!!

Remember the dream?  He pats her tummy and references "the twins"??
Trust this moment I was scrambling to text Andrea to design cute invites for the baby shower.  I was ALL IN!!!  And then Lorelai woke up....waaaahhhh!!!

*The Dance*
Luke asks Lorelai to be his date to his sister's wedding.  This was one of my favorite episodes.  We know at this point that Luke is totally into her (remember an episode or two before he "Saw Her Face"??).  It's just sweet.  He's not a dancer, but he asks her to dance.  So sweet!!  By the end of the dance, they're dancing close.

*The Chuppah*
The moment I KNEW Luke had a crush.  When he built a chuppah for Lorelai's wedding TO ANOTHER GUY!!  The moment I knew Lorelai had a crush...when she left the chuppah in her yard as yard art.

*The Kiss*
Holy Cow!!!  I've never wanted two to kiss more than I was cheering these two on!  This was like the kiss that was building for four seasons!!  This was hands-down my very favorite Gilmore Girls' episode!  The Dragonfly opens, Jason shows up (EEK!), and Luke and Lorelai kiss...the best combo!  This was hands-down my very favorite episode of the entire series!

*The ALMOST Kiss*
This one is moving and I don't know how to make it stop.
#ialwaysneedtechnicalhelp #always

This moment was way back in Season you remember when Luke drives Lorelai to the hospital?  How much he cares for her is written all over his face.  Then they have this moment at the diner where it looks like they're going to kiss and you wonder, "What can happen over the next six seasons?".  But they don't guess and we're kept waiting.

*The Ice Rink*
That moment when Luke builds Lorelai an outdoor ice skating rink to make up for her bad day with the snow.  Weren't they so happy in that episode??   And...I loved seeing his face light up when she was skating around.

*The First Official Date*
I might have teared up during this episode...when Luke tells her he's "all in", when he pulls that horoscope out of his pocket he's been holding onto for eight years, and when he flirts with her quietly at the diner.  Oh my heart!!

*The Proposal*
As manly as Luke is, I loved that Lorelai proposed to him.  This proposal was just "them" and was absolutely perfect!!

*The Last Kiss*
I started stressing toward the end of Season 7.  It didn't look like Luke and Lorelai were going to get together by the finale.  In my mind, I was hoping the finale would end in a Luke and Lorelai wedding, but them getting back together like this was a close second. :)

What about you??   What were your favorite Luke and Lorelai moments??

What's Up Wednesday

I'm joining MelShay, and Sheaffer for their What's Up Wednesday link-up!

What we're eating this week:

Wahoo for Halloween week!!

Monday:  Do you guys base your meals around the weather?  Is that weird that I do?  I always look at the forecast ( that I'm sharing I'm afraid it sounds weird!!  ha!) and plan for soup/stew on the coolest or rainiest day of the week.  This week Monday was kind of cool so we had Shay's Taco Chili.
Tuesday: We had Chicken Lettuce Wraps.
Wednesday:  Two baseball nights back to back...on this one we're going out for dinner!
Thursday:  One of my kids' favorites...the chicken bites wrapped in turkey bacon and baked.  My kids eat these up!
Friday:  Lots of Halloween plans so we'll grab something quick to eat in between trick-or-treating.

What I'm Reminiscing About:

Trick-or-treating with these three...Belle and two Ninja Turtles last year.  I have the best friends who even if I'm solo include me and my crazies to hang with them.  Last year, we had the best time enjoying the night with our friends.

What I'm Loving:

EEK!!!  Gilmore Girls is coming back!!  I finally finished the entire series earlier this weekend.  I'm sharing ALL my thoughts tomorrow...come back!  I am stoked about Netflix bringing back the Gilmores!!

What We've Been Up To:

School stuff, baseball, dance...the usual.  Last week Nixon's class invited the parents to come in while they taught us a little about what they'd learned during their lesson on community helpers.  Farmer Nixon taught us all about the farm.  :)

What I'm Dreading:

I'm dreading cleaning out Ebby Lee's closet.  Her closet right now has a mixture of summer and winter clothes and is just a big mess!  I have got to clean it out and organize it!  I'm DREADING it!  This isn't her actual closet, but hers looks pretty close!  Ugh!

What I'm Working On:

We finally have a plan for the dining room, powder bath, and the front room.  We're working on changing our fireplace, painting the dining room, and wallpapering the bathroom.  Here's a little sneak peek. :)

What I'm Excited About:
I have a really fun giveaway coming up next week!!!  Can't wait to share!

What I'm watching/reading:

I'm frantically getting caught up on the Real Housewives of Orange County.  We had DVR issues and I'm behind!  I'm reading Bossypants, Wild (still-I know!), and Simply Tuesday.

What I'm Listening To:

After my post about your favorite songs, I downloaded lots of your suggestions.  We made a playlist of Christian songs that we all like.  It's been on repeat at our house.

What I'm Wearing:

What I'm Doing This Weekend:

The Slaughter five are looking forward to this weekend!!

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month:

This little guys turns 3 in November!!  When you're the third kid, both your older brother and sister try so hard to encourage you to choose the birthday party they'd both prefer.  hahaha!  He's still undecided, but he has BIG plans for his cake.

Favorite Thanksgiving Recipe:

Last year I shared our favorite Thanksgiving side dish.  I call it, "Green Bean Casserole on Steroids"....check it out!

Happy Wednesday, Ladies!!  XOXO
