Friday's Favorites

It's FRIDAY!!  Hope you guys are enjoying your summer!  Today I'm sharing my favorites alongside my girls, Andrea and Narci.  You guys should join us!!

I can't believe school is RIGHT around the corner.  We've ordered backpacks, bought school shoes, and I've been purchasing clothes that fit the dress code!  :)  (Ebby Lee has lots of spaghetti straps and she's not allowed to wear those to school unless she throws on a denim vest or jacket.)

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends this Sunday, August 2nd.  If you've been contemplating something, you only have three days left.  I'm going to share a couple of my favorite finds for kiddos...

You know I love a fur vest.  I ordered this one for Ebby Lee and it's safe to say she has the same love in her heart.  She wore this in the middle of the summer to the mall.  haha!

Nixon is all about a simple tee and jeans.  These tees are crazy affordable with the sale.

Nixon was in desperate need of a good coat.  In Texas we never really need anything crazy thick, so this coat is perfect!  It's heavy, but not too bulky.

This pullover is so soft!

Bowen scored these navy/red New Balance and they are adorable!

As you read this, the Slaughters are road trippin' up to Missouri for a fun week full of family time!

Hahahaha!!  (Insert laughing so hard it's crying emoji)  This one REALLY spoke to me!  I will happily be the first person to start that line.  #thatdrivesmenutswhensomeonetriestocut

Have a GREAT Weekend!!  XOXO

10 Years...

On this day ten years ago, this hunk and I said our marriage vows and were officially married!  I'm so thankful I get to do life with this man by my side.  He makes it all a little more fun!  I just looked it up and the anniversary gift for ten years is tin/aluminum or diamond jewelry.  I think Tab and I happily agreed on new living room furniture instead.  :)

This is the ONLY picture I have of Tab with hair.  One year he grew his hair out for a month and after that month he couldn't do it any longer. true cheesy wedding anniversary fun, I'm sharing one of our wedding songs.  Do you guys remember this one??

When God Made You

It's always been a mystery to me
How two hearts can come together
And love can last forever
But now that I have found you, I believe
That a miracle has come
When God sends the perfect one
Now gone are all my questions about why
And I've never been so sure of anything in my life

I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I would need
Because all He made all my dreams come true
When God made you
He must have been thinking about me

I promise that wherever you may go
Wherever life may lead you
With all my heart I'll be there too
From this moment on I want you to know
I'll let nothing come between us
And I will love the ones you love

He made the sun  He made the moon
To harmonize in perfect tune
One can't move without the other
They just have to be together
And that is why I know it's true
You're for me and I'm for you
'Cause my world just can't be right
Without you in my life

He must have heard every prayer I've been praying
Yes, He knew everything I would need
When God made you
When dreams come true
When God made you
He must have been thinking about me

You can listen to the entire song here.
I tried to think of some amazing marriage advice to share but I kept going back to these three things...

#1 Keep Christ at the center-I can't imagine how hard this would be if we weren't both spending time reading our Bible, praying, and seeking His will for our life.
#2 Don't Keep Score-He doesn't need to know you've taken out the trash the last three times.  Just like you don't care to know how long it took him to mow the yard.  :)
#3 Be a Good Forgiver-In marriage you have to forgive and move on. Holding a grudge is going to help no one!  Forgive, ladies!

Please help me add to this list....what's your best marriage advice??

We've made some amazing memories over the last ten years!  Here's to many many more!
Happy 10th Anniversary, Tab!!!  LOVE YOU!!  XOXO

What's Up Wednesday

I'm joining MelShay, and Sheaffer for their What's Up Wednesday link-up!

What we're eating this week:
Seriously....this sign is speaking my love language this week.  I'm over cooking.  Ready for the fall weather and cream of mushroom soups!  haha!

Monday:  Marla brought over a roast, potatoes, and carrots.  YUM!
Tuesday:  Mama had a girl's night out!!  I grabbed some food for Tab and the kiddos to eat.
Wednesday:  Meatloaf-when I was grocery shopping this weekend that sounded so good.  The only day there is a REAL meal!  I went back in and added the link to the meatloaf.  I must tell kiddos gobbled this up!!
Thursday:  10-year-Anniversary Dinner OUT!  Kiddos are having pizza.  They'll be so disappointed.  Wink, wink!
Friday:  We're leaving bright and early to head to Missouri to visit my family.  Dinner is whatever my mom has ready. :)

What I'm Reminiscing About:
Moving DAY!  Ugh!  We moved into our new house about a month ago.  We still have lots to do-some small things and some big things that we'll do at a later date, but it's FINALLY feeling like home.  We have things in place.  We have furniture.  We have boxes unpacked.  It feels so much better.  Whew!  I'm thankful that's behind us!

What I'm Loving:
That we'll be seeing these faces in just two days!  We planned this little Missouri trip MONTHS ago and I think we're going to get to see most of my cousins/family.

What We've Been Up To:
Lots of this!

What I'm Dreading:
In just a few short weeks, Nixon starts kindergarten and Ebby Lee goes to first grade.  I'm not dreading their school days.  Ebby Lee absolutely loved school.  I think Nixon will have so much fun as well.  It's amazing to see them become more independent.  But to be more detailed, this is the moment I'm dreading...
That moment when you have to show nothing but happiness and excitement on your face because you know he's so nervous.  That first moment when he walks in the door and is off for a new adventure.  That moment when your heart breaks just a little because you can't be there with him.

I'm not a crazy helicopter mom, trust me!  But...that first moment when they walk in on the first day is HARD!  I'm dreading that moment!

What I'm Working On:

Enjoying our last three weeks of summer before school starts!!

What I'm Excited About:
OUR NEW HOUSE!!  It's FINALLY coming together.  I don't want to share any pictures until I have a room complete (which could be months), but it's feeling like home!

What I'm watching/reading:
These were the same two books I was reading last month!  haha!  #myexcuseisthemove  I'm watching Real Housewives AND Big Brother.  Who are you guys rooting for??  I'm kind of on board for Johnny Mac!!

What I'm Listening To:
The Quiet-we had a crazy week last week, so today the kiddos are all resting/quietly playing in their room and I'm enjoying the quiet.

What I'm Wearing:
I'm wearing nothing but swim suits and flip flops again this month, but I'm getting ready for cooler weather with these Nordstrom goodies.

What I'm Doing This Weekend:
We're having a big family Pool Party on Saturday at my parent's house.  I heard there might be a wiffle ball game and you guys should know that my hand/eye coordination is NOT good!!  I usually strike out during wiffle ball.  #howisthatevenpossible  I'm going to trying to persuade everyone for a washer's tournament instead.  haha!

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month:
Soaking up the very last moments of summer!!  Football season is right around the corner and we're enjoying having Tab on the weekends before our life gets crazy!

What Else is New:
During the move, we lost Ebby Lee's American Girl Doll!!!  I kept thinking she'd pop up sometime, but it still hasn't happened.  We have every box inside our house unpacked and I think she's gone!  I even tried the condo in Florida, because I'm not sure when the last time she had her was.  No luck!  If you see one similar to her lying around somewhere, CALL ME!

What will I miss most about summer?
Having NO schedule and spending my days making fun memories with my favorite people.

Happy Wednesday!!

Top Three

We're back with a little Top Three action today.   I took a little break, but now it's time for another!  Today we're talking about regrets.  I'm not someone who looks back and dwells on the way things could have been or should have been.  Most of the time I chalk up anything that happened in the past that's crazy to being young or I view it as a lesson.  You guys!  I was that girl in high school who wouldn't eat in front of her boyfriend!!  WHAT WAS I THINKING?  Is it crazy that might be my biggest regret?  hahaha!  All that to say, other than passing up food back in the day I don't have any major big things I really regret.  Did I make some dumb decisions?  Absolutely!  But I learned from them all.  Even when I watched my seventeen-year-old boyfriend enjoy his meal as I "pretended" I wasn't hungry.  (FYI-I think it was all about getting something in my teeth and him seeing it.  CRA-ZY!)

I'm baring my heart and sharing my Top Three Things I DO NOT Regret....

#1  Going Away to College
My senior year, my bestie and I applied at several different universities together.  We wanted to take the world by storm and preferably do it not too close to home.  We applied to Auburn, toured Ole Miss and Mississippi State, and at the last minute my friend decided she wanted to play volleyball in college.  So-I was kind of left with a completely blank slate.  You must know that I am someone who thrives with some good friendships.  I've always been a girl's girl (I get along well with the guys too, but I'm not one of those girls who didn't have many girl friends.  Know what I mean?).  I threw caution to the wind and JUMPED out of my comfort zone by applying AND attending Arkansas State University.  It was only about two and a half hours from my home, but I only barely knew one other girl who was going.  One girl.  Barely.  I have no doubt that God was speaking to my heart.  He gave me so much peace about this move.  I met some of the best friends, made some amazing memories, and was introduced to my awesome hubby.  Definitely NOT a regret when it comes to that decision!

#2  Infertility Days
This wasn't a choice, because I'm 99% positive if I was given the choice I NEVER would have chosen this.  But on the flip-side if I could redo it, I wouldn't change a thing!  I shared my story here, but when I think back to moments in my life I'd change this would NOT be one.  I learned so much about myself, our marriage was strengthened, we relied on God more than ever, and on this side of that trial we can see all those blessings.  If you're in the middle of this issue right now, please now I am praying for you.  Waiting for a baby, is one of the very hardest things I've ever done.

#3 Blogging
I've had a family blog for years.  Even before kids, several of my friends and I had blogs.  But one day I realized I wanted to change it up and make it interesting for people other than my grandma.  :)  I'm absolutely overwhelmed at the amount of kindness and love shown over the blog world.  I love interacting with you guys, getting ideas, and hearing your opinions!   I don't regret changing up my blog one bit!  Maybe blogging isn't the thing for you or maybe it is?  But if you're thinking about starting something and just a little nervous-throw caution to the wind and GET STARTED!!  You don't want to look back and regret not giving it a chance.  :)

Let's live life with no regrets today, girls!  Happy Tuesday!  XOXO

Favorite Things

Happy Monday!  Can you believe this is the last week of July??  It's kind of our last chill week before the busyness of the pre-school year begins.  I'm enjoying all the easy moments of summer I can!

The last Monday of every month, Andrea and I choose some Favorite Things that go along with that month's theme (we love a theme!).  :)  This month in honor of Independence Day we're sharing our favorite red, white, and blue items!

My very favorite things I just bought that has all the patriotic colors is this top.  It's included in the Anniversary Sale, so if you're interested snag it up quickly!

I also snagged this popover as well.  I'm envisioning me in the winter with this top, some cute skinny jeans, and big fur vest.  You guys know I love a fur vest!

In case you share the love of a good vest, I have a few options...
Fur Hooded Puffer/Fur Hooded Toggle(I have one crazy similar from last year.)/Black Fur Vest (I ordered the black fur just to see how I liked it-I'm in love!!)

Those pillows are a few of my very favorite things-I snagged that Ikat pillow cover earlier this summer and it looks so cute with our grey couch. Just so happends-it's red, white, AND blue!

These are a few of my very favorite WHITE products:
I am a huge fan of our Multi-Function Eye Cream.  I'm going to place a bulk order for eye cream on August 1st.  The eye cream is $55 and I'll cover taxes and shipping.  If you'd like to order one, please e-mail me and I'll get you on the list.  :)

Our Redefine regimen (is all white) and it was designed to help with fine lines, wrinkles, and large pores.  It's my favorite regimen.  I use it every morning and night.

Our Micro-Dermabrasion Paste is amazing.  You can use it on your face, neck, heels, and body.  I can add these to my bulk order as well.  The price is $70 for a jar that will last you at least six months (if not all year).  Again, I'll cover shipping and taxes.  E-mail me at to be included in the order.

This summer I've been loving pico de gallo on everything.  A burger?  Eggs?  Tacos?  Chicken?  Yes, please!  And my list continues.

Now it's your turn to share your red, white, and blue favorites at the moment.  Use the link-up below to join us!  Have a great day!
