Friday Favorites-Halloween Edition

Hey Ladies!!  First of all...HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

In true Friday Favorites form, I'm teaming up with my girlies, Andrea and Narci to share.  You can join us!!  Blog a favorite ANTHING, post, and link up with us!!

In honor of Halloween, I thought I'd share some of my FAVORITE past Halloweens with the Slaughter family...
In 2009, Ebby Lee was the cutest goldfish EVER (and I wore my hair WAY too high pinned back...hahaha).

In 2010, Nixon was a football player/football and Ebby Lee sported a football cheerleader/fairy look.  Sidenote:  That yellow truck in the background used to park on the street we used to live on daily and it drove Tab bonkers.  I didn't notice it.  It drove Tab CRAZY!  haha!

2011-The FLINTSTONE's were represented by the Slaughters.  :)

In 2012, a VERY pregnant Erika and her hubby, Tab, trick-or-treated with an adorable clown and a handsome little puppy. :)

In 2013, this crazy picture was the best we got.  A baby completely exhausted and one kiddo with his eyes crossed!!  hahahaha!!

Hope you have a wonderful night hanging with your family!  Happy Halloween!

Playing a Little Catch Up

Are you kidding me??  How big do these kids look?  Especially Ebby Lee!!  EEK!  Friday night Tab was gone to football, so the kiddos and I were solo.  Gary and Marla invited us to dinner, so we met them for a yummy Mexican meal!

We went to Cafe Rio.  If you're local, it's in Allen.  From the outside it looks pretty Vegas strip to me for some reason.  The food was just okay, (don't think I ordered the right thing either...some times I trick it up a little too much according to Tab and I think that was the case) but there was a band and a big dance floor that kept my kiddos all entertained!

They loved it!!

Got home and bathed everyone.  Then we all got comfy cozy in my bed to watch a movie.  The PERFECT Friday night.  :)

Saturday...we had a birthday party and the big kiddos and I went to the theater to watch a movie with friends.

Sunday before church I had time to take two pictures.  This one and....

This one...hahahahaha!

We hit up a nursing home that afternoon for a little costume parade and a few impromptu songs..."Jesus Loves Me, Twinkle Twinkle, and the ABC's".  You know the usual repertoire when you're ages two to six.  hahaha!

Bowen stood there and didn't move a muscle.  Ebby Lee was very sweet and mothering.  Nixon hid behind the mask.  Too funny!

The most handsome Jake ever!  haha!

Our little group doing their thing.

Can you tell which kid was and was not excited??  #youonlygetoneguess

Yesterday, Nixon invited a couple friends over for a little Halloween fun.

B was so glad he got to participate.  ;)

The boys made airplanes and then tried to fly them off the stairs.  It didn't really work.

They played outside, inside, made airplanes, ate, and then watched a Halloween movie.  The perfect BOY playdate.  :)  Nix invited two girls.  One was sick and the other stayed for just a little while.  She wasn't feeling these two crazies for too long.  haha!!

Whew!!  Now I'm all caught up!  Wish us luck!  I head out on my very first field trip as a mama!  I'm going to be exhausted by 3:00 right??  hahaha!  Have a great day!!

What We Wore

Okay, after my "What I Would Wear to a Variety of Different Football Games" post last week I learned a couple things...

1.  Lots of you with Maroon and Gold as your "colors" didn't know there was such a cute option as this sweater...
Thank you guys for all the sweet comments!!!

2.  This new twist on my "What I Wore" posts needs a shorter name.

3.  Apparently I wasn't the only one with a crush on him. :)
It seems like most of you could totally relate.  haha!!

This week I'm highlighting a couple other requests and then I'm going to travel to see some NFL games next week.  That should be fun, huh??

I'm starting off this week in Lincoln, Nebraska, home of the CORNHUSKERS!

I'm basing my entire outfit on this vest!  It's under $40 from Old Navy.  I ordered it a couple weeks ago and I LOVE it!  I'd also love the weather here in Texas to allow me to wear it ASAP, but that's another story.  :)

This tee is cute but is only available in small.

This cute grey option is available in all sizes.  It'd be adorable with the red vest!

These new Lucky brand leopard flats would be adorable and super comfortable for the football game.

Time to head over to South Carolina for a Clemson Tiger's football game!!

You guys know orange has been the HARDEST color ever for me to find right I tweaked it a bit and went for a more "coral" look.  Please understand Clemson fans. :)
This charcoal jacket has a knit geometric print back and is adorable!!  The back has a coral print.  You have to check it out!  Last year there was a similar a mustard, but I'm LOVING the coral.  I might have seen this in a store last week and already snagged one for myself.  :)

Paired with these destroyed skinnies....perfection!

I'd top it all off with these Sole Society booties.

On to North Carolina for a little Tarheels football!

This is the PERFECT top for a UNC game!

I'm a huge fan of this sweater vest!!  Shay and I were shopping the other day and we spotted it.  IF I knew I'd be cheering on the Tarheels, I for sure would have grabbed it!  It'd look great over that chiffon top.

These Vigoss bootcut jeans are on sale for under $36.

The perfect cognac bootie to complete the look. :)

Next stop...Fresno State to cheer on the BULLDOGS!!

I'm loving this Free People top for a Fresno State game.  How cool are the sleeves??

And...these Old Navy boyfriend jeans would look great with that top.

My last stop on this trip is Penn State!!

I've featured this toggle vest before, but I had to show you again!!  How cute would this be for a Penn State game?

This cable knit sweater would look great under the vest.  The sweater comes in a variety of colors...mustard, green, burgundy, and more.

And...I'd pair them with these skinny jeans. :)

And...these Toms' flats would be the perfect addition to the Penn State outfit!

Hope you guys enjoyed the trip this week!!  Have a GREAT day!
