Catching up and Birthday Interviews

An extra post this week!  I needed to do a little everyday catch up AND I forgot to post my kiddos' birthday interviews.  They're always fun to read!  ha!

Last Saturday, I cleaned out my kiddos' closets and these kids played HARD!  This is after I sprayed them off with the water hose so they're looking a little rough.  What do you do in TX when the pool isn't ready and it's HOT outside?  That's right!  You spray them down with a hose!  #classy

On Memorial Day, we went to M & G's house for a little dinner.

Tuesday, we hit up the Perot Museum with the Smith girls.  The ride down there was an adventure in itself.  Somehow the car seat strap was hanging out the door and it caught on fire??  Still a mystery, but there was a small explosion sound AND we were in the HOV lane so we were a HOT MESS for a bit.  But..we recovered quickly!

The last two times I was in the car with Sarah...there was a hail storm AND I ran into a curb.  We should NOT ride together EVER! :)

This kid needed a boy to play with.  haha!  He invited me to his campfire cookout.

We started walking up the hill to a park where we could feed the kiddos lunch and they could play.  About halfway up, (it was so hot) we decided we'd stop and eat a yummy Mexican lunch instead.  #priorities

The kiddos enjoyed their first swim in the backyard on Wednesday.

And Nixon had his very last t-ball game.

Everyone wanted to pose with him.

He didn't seem to mind.  :)

Besties after their LAST game of the season!

Thursday morning we had a lazy start to our day and Ebby Lee asked to paint BEFORE breakfast.  Sure, why not?

Then we headed to IKEA for some organizational supplies for a closet.  Nix talked me in to dog hiney hooks.  They were so funny that I couldn't say no!  haha!

I cannot believe I'm writing this post and it's already the end of May.
Which means summer is HERE!

Let me just tell you this month I had an outfit in my head and just KNEW who would be my inspiration!

THE Mix and Match Mama...I combined some of Shay's very favorite things to make this outfit.

Remember here and here I nailed Sheaffer's looks so it's only fair that it's Shay's turn, right?  ;)

I'm linking up with ShaySheaffer, and Mel to show you my Pin-spired look.
I took Shay's love of short shorts, Red Hunter rain boots, and stripes to get my look.

My original plan was my mint short, but they were dirty!!  So I improvised.

What do you think?  Did I nail her look?

To recreate the look here are some options...
Short-sleeve boatneck tee-LOVE the length!

Boatneck stripe option from Loft-it would be super cute with shorts!

My exact Target tank here.

Exact J.Crew Factory shorts here.

Exact Hunter Rain Boots here.

Bucket List

It's that time again!  Time for Emily and I to share our Bucket Lists for June!  I seriously should have just added a picture of a pool and called it a day.  haha!

This is what the Slaughters are looking forward to in June...

Lots and lots of pool time!!!  (Doesn't he look SO little?)

More pool time :)

I have a feeling this little guy isn't going to be sitting so still this year at the pool.  haha!!

Swim Lessons!!  This will be Ebby Lee's 4th year and Nixon's 3rd year at Mrs. Sally's.  They LOVE her and talk about swimming with Mrs. Sally ALL YEAR LONG!

Tennis Camp...last year Shay and I signed our kiddos up for tennis camp not knowing what to expect.  They actually did a great job and are looking forward to round #2 this year.

Family vacation...the last two years we've gone to Destin, FL, with Tab's dad, Tab's brother, and his sister. (and all their families)  This year we're changing it up and heading to San Antonio.  We'll hit up Sea World, the resort pool, the Riverwalk, and probably the Alamo.  (I'm NOT into history, but I'm hoping Tab can teach our kids to love I'll pretend like I'm super interested.  :))

Don't forget to check out Emily's list!  What is on your June Bucket List??

My website is HERE.
Let me know if you have any questions!!

It's Tuesday!!  And do you know what is RIGHT around the corner??  Father's Day!  We have 3 weeks, ladies!  So I thought I'd do a little digging and find some fabulous Father's Day ideas for you!  Here are my Top Three ideas...

Oh my goodness, ladies!!  This handy-dandy thing has changed our life.  Our new house (can I call it that when we've almost lived here a whole year??) has a lot of big trees.  And...that means a lot of leaves are all over the ground!  Tab came home with this a month or two ago and it is changing the Slaughters' lives.  Seriously, it's so easy too!!  I've even used it (and that's saying something!).  If you have lots of trees in your yard, your hubby would LOVE this!

My friend, Haley, was just telling me about these books (they have one for mamas too).  After hanging up the phone, I went to check them out on Amazon and decided that would make a great little Father's Day gift.  I'm not sure about you guys, but my hubby is not a fan of big gifts for himself.  (I guess it's a good thing that we aren't BOTH fans of big gifts for ourselves...haha!)  This would make the perfect little gift for my hubby.  (I actually ordered him one already!)

I've talked and talked about my Disney shoes, but I hadn't mentioned Tab's shoes.  He bought these right before leaving for our trip and wore them at Disney.  He loved them and has been wearing them constantly!!

Can I just say that doing my "research" for this post was hilarious??  I told Tab about this post and asked for some ideas.  He is NOT a gift person and came up with absolutely nothing!  To get him to start thinking, I said, "Well, think about what you would want from the mall.".  hahaha!  He still had nothing!  Then we started discussing some of his latest and greatest purchases or items.  That's when a light bulb went off about the leaf blower AND he happened to be wearing the flip flops!!  Too funny!!  Opposites attract, right??  If you asked me at any second to name five things I'd like to purchase from the mall...I could tell you in under 5 seconds!!!  No doubt about it!

If you have a great Father's Day gift idea, please leave a comment and let us all know!!  Thank you!!

Favorite Things Party

We remember your sacrifice today and every day.  We thank you!!!
Today, I'm praying for all those families who have lost loved ones fighting for our country.  I pray that we never forget those who fought for our freedom.  Thank you!!

In honor of Memorial Day, Andrea and I are sharing some of our very favorite things (under $10) that are red, white, or blue!!

I hope you join us today!!  I'm sharing a few of my favorite things.  Here we go...

This RED cereal!  Oh. My. Goodness!!  If you haven't given this a shot, you need to.  Today.  Do you ever want a little something sweet at night?  I do!  Having a little bowl of this cereal is the PERFECT SNACK!!!

Eucalyptus Spearmint Luxury Bath...this is cheating a bit because I think it's a little over $10.  But ANY of these "Stress Relief" products with the scent "Eucalyptus Spearmint" could classify as my faves!  Have you smelled this??  I'm a scent-oriented person!  Tab would say that my nose is CRAZY good!  ha!  I just got some of this WHITE bath stuff and I look forward to taking my bath with this in it!!

I also have these in my walls!!  LOVE them!!  I had some family in town and they commented on how good it smelled!  The lady at Bath and Body Works told me that this Wallflower is their #1 Best Seller!  I understand why!

And...I have this candle burning in the dining room.  I'm telling you.  I'm LOVING this scent!  Clean and fresh!!

I blogged about my favorite spring nail polishes a few months ago, but I'm sharing this BLUE Essie polish again. I LOVE the color!  It has a little hint of blue and will look great with a tan!!
