Hey Everyone!
Guess what today starts for us?! A THREE DAY WEEKEND! WAHOO! This weekend also really kicks off the Halloween festivities for us. It’s gonna be fun! In Friday fashion, I’ve teamed up with my girls, Narci and Andrea, to bring you some favorites!
First up, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who took time out of your day to shoot over a question on my Insta Stories! You guys knocked me out of the park. Lots of Q and A posts headed your way!

Next up is this girl! I shared a post adoption update earlier this week, if you missed it. Just a couple days ago in the car, Britt was saying, “MOM, jfkda;j”. Or at least that’s what it sounded like to me! I could not make out the second word, but she just kept repeating it. I looked back and realized she was pointing and saying, “Mom, COW!”, as we drove past a field of cows.
This is huge in our little world! 🙂
Another teacher at preschool {not one of Britt’s} stopped me this week to tell me she’s witnessed Britt come out of her shell over the last few weeks. She said she used to be very stand-offish on the play ground, but now they’re seeing her personality more and more. She plays, engages with friends, and is doing so well. WAHOO!

Earlier this week I had a doctor’s appointment, the camera was helping us stay entertained while we waited. And someone had some crazy hair. #notnaminganynames
Britt’s attempt at a picture of me. ha!

On Tuesday evening, my girlfriend, Brooke, and I headed to the McKinney Education Foundation’s Purses with a Purpose Fundraiser. This foundation gives grants, scholarships and more to teachers and students right here in our city. This event was so cute! We bought raffle tickets to place in the boxes of different designers purses…they had a wide variety and then at the end of the night they raffled them off-as well as a silent auction happening, fun food being passed around, and lots of girl talk! I should add-the venue was absolutely gorgeous!
My seat 🙂
Tickets are purchased and we’re ready!
Brooke and her sweet mom, Denise 🙂
I’m so glad I went to this event…so much fun! Thank you, Denise and Brooke for the invite!

Did you see my “What I’m Wearing Lately” post?
Also, I shared this on Wednesday and got lots of sweet messages about my cardigan {as well as that sweater yesterday}. You guys! They were on Jane.com but I think their “deal” is gone. This is the Cardigan link. I promise to keep my eye out. They have a wide variety of sweaters that are super affordable prices, if you want to take a peek.

What are you doing on November 10th?
Local girls…you should come and bring your families to this event. The cause is near and dear to my heart! The Manda Strong foundation provides support to moms battling cancer while raising young kiddos.
You can see all the details/register here. The Slaughter crew is all registered!

Okay, I’m off to enjoy the weekend! Hope you do too!
