Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, Everyone!

My kiddos are STILL trucking in the school department.  Just five days left.  I think they can...I think they can...I think they can.  :)

As always I'm linking up with my girls, Andrea and Narci, to bring you Friday Favorites.

I typically share a HOT, RANDOM MESS of FAVORITES from the week, but I'm changing things up just a bit today.  I get asked ALL THE TIME about something very near and dear to my heart...

MY GIRLFRIENDS.

I get asked things like...
*Where did you and your girlfriends meet?
*How long have you known each other?
*How do you girls plan Girls' Nights?
*How often do you get together with your girlfriends?

And on and on.  :)

Let me just tell you.  I am one super blessed girl in the friend department.  I'm well aware and don't take it for granted one second.  {Also, please note that not all of my girlfriends are pictured in this post and mostly, that's because I don't have a picture with you.  If you're not here, be warned.  The next time I see you...SELFIE TIME!}

I've blogged about my girlfriends many times before because they're a big part of my life.  I'll make sure and link to all those posts at the bottom of this one.  Just in case you want to read.  :)

The majority of my girlfriends I met at church.  Tab and I joined our church almost twelve years ago, got plugged into a small group/Bible Study/Sunday School/Life Group, and spent lots of time getting to know other people in the class.  Keep in mind, it's almost been twelve years so it didn't happen instantly, but over time some amazing friendships have been formed.  I've also met some great friends at the gym, through school, in our neighborhood, etc.

Some of my girlfriends are new....maybe in the last few years and others I've known for almost twelve years.

Girl's Nights are definitely much needed.  All the praise hands for some mama time.  Am I right, ladies?  I'd say that we plan them when we need them.  Some girls and I have more "set" times when we get together and other friends and I make dates when we can fit it into our schedules.  If you're trying to find time to get together with your girlfriends and schedules are a problem, set it up in a month or two.  Do what you can do to make it work. I'm telling you...they're important.  Get that on your calendar.  :)

I definitely think I need to do better in this department, but I love encouraging my girlfriends.  Maybe it's a sweet text, taking their kiddos for the afternoon, or even a fun little gift?

Nordstrom recently reached out to me about sharing some gifting ideas.  When I was working on my game plan about what types of gifts I wanted to feature, I just kept going back to my girlfriends.  I've seen lots of gift guides for graduates, Father's Day, etc., {and those are much needed-I can ALWAYS use the suggestions} but I thought I'd highlight some gifts for the girlfriends in your life.  And to be honest, these are all things I have or I'd love to get as a gift.

As always gift giving with Nordstrom is super easy!  With free shipping and free returns, Nordstrom makes gift giving a BREEZE!

I've told you guys before that I'm one of those people who loses sunglasses like I lose socks in the washing machine.  And if you guys saw my big pile of random socks, you'd realize that is a LOT of lost sunglasses.  So my very favorite glasses to purchase are these super affordable options from NordstromThis pair is cute and will be the perfect addition to my pool bag or a gift bag for a friend.

What girlfriend of mine wouldn't love a fun, summer straw tote?  This one is darling and would be the perfect little birthday gift or encouraging gift for a friend.  My summer sandals and black dress are the perfect addition to the beach bag.  :)

I know some of my favorite gifts to receive are items I wouldn't normally purchase for myself.  I tried to keep that in mind when adding these gift sets to my list.  I'm also a product junkie...love love love trying out new products.  Gift sets are perfect for me because you typically get a variety of products.

Have you guys tried the Coola sunscreen?  This set comes with a SPF moisturizer, after sun lotion, sunscreen, and a lip balm.  It'd make a great little kickoff to summer gift!  And the smell is SO GOOD!

Talk about another fun summer set!  This brand, Kopari, has been everywhere in blog world.  This gift set comes with coconut melt, body glow, and lip glossy.  I recently purchased the Coconut Crush Scrub and LOVE the feel and the scent.

You guys I can't get enough of the summer sets...can you tell?  I'd love this Supergoop set.  I'm a HUGE fan of the Setting Mist {the smell is divine!!} and this set would be such a fun gift paired with a cute towel, glasses, or bag.

I'm a huge Jo Malone fan and this set would make a fabulous gift!  {My set above is MIA online, but this one is even better with five small bottles.  More to try!  That set has sold out too.  But you can purchase travel sizes which are my favorite outside of samples because then you're not stuck with just one scent.  I like to be able to smell myself-in a good way and I get immune to a perfume I'm smelling all the time.  This is a way to combat that...travel sizes!}  There are so many great scents so this set is an awesome way to test a few of those out.

I think that wraps up my gift guide today.  I hope you found these ideas helpful!  If you have a great idea for a fun gift for a girlfriend, please share with us!  And if you have fabulous girlfriends, be so thankful for them.  XO

Thanks so much to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!

I get girlfriend questions a lot too, and I'm just so grateful for our little tribe. Love you girls so much.
And those gift sets! I have several Kopari products on the way to me right now. You know I had to try more once I became obsessed with the deodorant!

I read your blog along with Shay's and Andrea's and your girlfriend group seems so special!! I have a lot of super close friends from college that I keep in touch with and see maybe once a year, but I struggle with having quality time with my local girlfriends. Many of them have young children and don't often want to leave their kids with sitters. I don't have kids yet so I feel bad ever suggesting sitters. It can be tough!
